VETERANS HISTORY PROJECT

We are recording audio interviews with Merchant Mariners, who are veterans of World
War II and other conflicts.  These are submitted to the U.S. Library of Congress, as
outlined by the rules of the project.  In addition, we are broadcasting these interviews at
this web site location.  If you have your speakers on and your sound turned up you
should be hearing one of them now.  The Mariners histories are not unlike those of
veterans of other branches of the American military but their stories are unique to the
American Merchant Marine.  The histories of American Mariners have been overlooked
in many history books.  We welcome the opportunity to have these men tell their story in
their own words.  These histories will be broadcast on a revolving basis presenting
another veteran and his story every three or four weeks.
